Write your first teaching

Create a sermon, lesson or keynote and use the manuscript editor.

Updated 8/23/2026

Every piece of writing in The Pastor's Study is a "teaching" — a sermon, Bible study lesson, classroom lesson, small group study or keynote. Choosing the right type gives you the right starting structure.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Start a new teaching

Go to Teaching and choose New. Pick the type, give it a title and optionally a passage.

  2. 2

    Pick a template

Templates give you the sections that suit the type you chose. You can always start blank.

  3. 3

    Write

The editor autosaves as you go. Use headings, lists, highlighting and images as you need them.

  4. 4

    Add presenter notes

Notes you add here are shown only to you in Preaching Mode.

Common questions

Does my work save automatically?

Yes. Every change is autosaved, and Pro plans keep a version history you can restore from.

If something goes wrong

My changes did not appear on another device.

Check the save indicator in the editor. If you were offline, the change syncs as soon as you reconnect.
